The Role of the Arab Interior Ministers Council
(AIMC) in Promoting Human Rights in Arab Countries

Brigadier General Osama Khalaf In light of the global interest in human rights issues, both Arab
and international organizations have made significant efforts in this

by the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the
International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights,
and two optional protocols. These conventions have been ratified by
most countries worldwide and have become part of their legislative
framework.

Similarly, the United Nations Charter, in its first article,
emphasizes the UN›s commitment to achieving international
cooperation, promoting respect for human rights, and ensuring
fundamental freedoms for all individuals without discrimination
based on race, sex, language, or religion.
